Jonathan Ullmer

 Originally from Oxford, England, Jonathan Ullmer is a professional educator with extensive experience working with students in the UK and abroad. He began his career in 1985 as an English and Drama teacher at  Swanley School in Kent.

In 1989 he became Head of the Arts Curriculum at Cecil Jones High School 1118 Foundation in Southend before moving to Sawyers Hall College of Science and Technology in Essex in 1989 where he took on the position of Deputy Headmaster. Jonathan took on a leadership role as Deputy Headmaster at Cambridge Arts, Technology, and Science (CATS) College Cambridge in 2008, eventually becoming Head of CATS Canterbury in 2010.

 In 2017 Jonathan Ullmer accepted an offer from Haileybury to head their school in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nursultan, eventually led this institution through a highly successful inspection, resulting in “Outstanding International Practice” in 17 out of 19 categories. He achieved his first very successful results in the  International Baccalaureate. In addition, the Nursultan branch of Haileybury, under his direction, was shortlisted for a Times Independent School Award and received two awards for its student leadership programs and for teaching the Kazakh language.
